Michigan Schools Need Our Voices
Michigan’s public schools are at a crossroads. For decades, powerful interests have worked to divert tax dollars away from local classrooms, promote privatization schemes, and dismantle public education.
The future of public education is one of the most important issues shaping Michigan's 2026 elections.
Together for Michigan Schools was created to elevate leaders who stand firmly with Michigan’s students, educators, and families.
Our PAC identifies and supports candidates up and down the ballot who are committed to:
- Equitable education funding for all Michigan students, no matter their ZIP code. At the state level, sponsoring, shaping, or supporting initiatives to improve the state's current funding model (Proposal A).
- Rejecting privatization efforts, such as vouchers or student opportunity scholarships, that drain public resources from neighborhood schools and promote corporate tax credits.
- Strengthening public education as the backbone of thriving communities and a strong economy. Helping to reinforce the role that millages and bonds play in Michigan's current funding model for local school districts.
- Prioritizing evidence-based best practices and educational outcomes, rather than costly and disruptive culture war issues.

Why endorse?
Since the late 1950s, national think tanks and billionaire-backed groups have waged quiet, coordinated campaigns against the United States' education system. Many of the most heavily funded initiatives are rooted right here in Michigan.
Our state is public school proud. Voters have turned down every privatization scheme at the ballot box. Still, federal stunts and local astroturf groups continue to threaten funding, access, and opportunities with their playbook talking points.
Together for Michigan Schools offers something unique: a vote of confidence and stamp of approval for vetted candidates. We are volunteer public school parents immersed in the real and manufactured issues facing our schools. Our earned endorsements reflect an honest understanding of Michigan’s education landscape.
